The path was steep—I enrolled in an MBA program while working minimum wage jobs, driving for Lyft, and delivering for DoorDash. Amidst this whirlwind of activity, I carved out moments for study, graduating with a 3.5 GPA. All the while, I ensured my children’s spiritual nourishment and never let them go to bed hungry.
The journey was fraught with challenges, and just as we began to find our stride, the upheaval of Covid-19 momentarily derailed us. Despite having the fight and the work ethic, repeated rejections battered my self-esteem, casting shadows of doubt over my hard-earned degrees. Yet, I summoned the last reserves of my determination, delving into the world of home-based businesses that promised growth. In the throes of struggle, I found a job that hardly matched my qualifications alongside my burgeoning side hustle. Today, it is yielding fruit beyond my hopes. I’ve reclaimed my voice and now stand ready to empower every single parent, no matter their scars or their past, to rediscover and unleash the power of their own roar.
